#NewYearinLingnan# "Fu" has many meanings. What are the blessings in the hearts of Cantonese people? This year, flower markets around Guangdong have reopened, and many large and small flower markets are scattered in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, Huizhou, and other places.
In the flower markets, we can find Cantonese "looking for blessing (Fu)" culture, and we can see the emotional link between intangible cultural heritage and young people.
The Kuaizi Road, Foshan has been decorated with different sizes of Spring Festival couplets featuring Fu (blessings). In the old city area of Guangzhou, the inheritors of Xiguan copperware are engraving the Chinese character "Fu" on the copperware so that the visitors can scan "Fu" to take part in an Alipay campaign and also get blessings for the new year. Post-90s inheritors of intangible cultural heritage also express "Fu (blessings)" through paper-cutting to tell the taste of the new year.

As time continues to change, the place and form of carrying the flavor of the Chinese Lunar New Year are constantly varying, and the Chinese character "Fu" is no longer just ink on red paper.
In Foshan, Chen Xiaojie, the inheritor of Foshan paper-cutting, a national intangible cultural heritage, is concentrating on coloring a piece of metal foil with the Chinese character "Fu".
Copper chisel paper-cutting is the most distinctive technique in Foshan paper-cutting. When Chen Xiaojie created paper-cutting works, he brought elements favored by youngsters into the traditional culture. "For example, Alipay's collection of the 'Five Blessings' is one of the inspirations that reminds me that I can cut out a piece of paper-cutting 'Five Blessings' ".
In this way, the traditional culture and the "New Spring Festival Customs" loved by youngsters are combined. The work "Five Blessings" was born.
To make the traditional industry "cool", the inheritors of Xiguan copperware adopt new ways
In the old city of Guangzhou, Su Yingmin, the inheritor of Xiguan copperware, is engraving the Chinese character "Fu" on the copperware.
Xiguan copperware has a long history. Today's Guangfu Road and then Datong Street, the kilometer-long road, was once full of craftsmen who used to make copperware. But with the changes of time, the old industry has almost disappeared. Therefore, Su Yingmin made up her mind to develop a new market for Xiguan copperware, which can be accepted by the "post-80s", "post-90s" and even "post-00s" generations.
"Inheriting this skill, persistence is not enough, and it is necessary to explore innovative ways." Su continued to try to cross borders and joined hands with Alipay to become a "blessing person" during the Spring Festival, preparing some small copper gourds of the Chinese character "Fu" to send blessings to the guests.
In a recent survey titled "What kind of blessings do Lingnan people have in mind?", the close connection between culture and blessings received the highest number of responses. Most of the respondents preferred it from pasting the Chinese character "Fu" and listening to stories when they were young to teaching family members to collect the "Five Blessings" and reconnecting with the first love through the "Five Blessings", which connects family, friendship, and love.
